was living in hospital accommodations just down the road from the edward vii hospital. she is the mother of two. we don't have an age for her, we don't know how old her children are. the family have asked that their privacy at this time is respected and all quearies are being referred to the police. we are all deeply shocked. it's a terrible story and a terrible twist that will leave william and catherine absolutely devastated. >> i think everyone involved will be devastated. the two deejays have suspended themselves by the sound of it in australia. they must be feeling i would imagine horrendous about what happened. it was a stupid thing to do but a lot of people found it sort of a typical deejay stunt, if you like. suddenly it's become a matter of life or death and this woman has died. we don't actually know for sure, i guess at this stage, whether her death is 100% linked to what happened, do we? >> reporter: no, because we don't know the background, we don't know -- there might have been a series of events that culminated in her suicide but were not solely linked to this. we just don

. there is some concern, though, about her condition, because she's been hospitalized at the king edward vii hospital in central london with what has been described as acute morning sickness. people i have spoken to who know about this say it's much worse than that. >> well, it is serious and the word you use, it's very debilitating. she's going to be confined to her hospital bed possibly for several days. prince william was there this afternoon. he left early this evening and i suspect he will be back there first thing tomorrow morning. he's obviously very concerned, as are both the royal family and of course, the middleton family as well. this is going to be a first grandchild for them. so yes, there is concern. of course this is very, very happy momentous news but what they are saying is she is going to need plenty of rest. we know that all of her public engagements have been suspended until further notice. i suspect we probably won't see the duchess carrying out any official engagements until possibly after christmas. >> right. and the other part of all this is fascinating, is the succes

a short distance from here in the week where when she was working here at the edward vii hospital in central london in the staff quarters there. that's where her body was found. yeah, you're right. a lot of anger expressed on the social media about this. also a lot of sadness and sympathy being expressed with those associated with the death, first and foremost the duke and duchess of cambridge. they have issued a statement expressing their statement saying how wonderfully well in their words they were treated by the hospital staff during the time that katherine, the duchess of cambridge, was treated here for her very severe morning sickness. the hospital has come out as well, the management of the hospital saying that they are very regretful and sad about what happened and paying tribute to a nurse that was with them for the last four years and who they say treated hundreds of patients very well indeed. also, you mentioned the ceo of the company that owns that radio station in sydney that made the prank call. he's come out and issued his regret as well but also sort of indicating

care. king edward viirupt where the nurse worked has released a statement saying it was extremely foolish of your presenters to even consider trying to lie their way through to one of our patients, let alone actually make the call. they went on to call the actions of the australian radio station appalling. let's get more reaction from senior international correspondent matthew chance. >> a lot of sadness and a lot of anger being directed against the radio station in sydney, australia. and the two deejays who carried out this prank call to this hospital here in central london. and a lot of their social media places like facebook have had to be taken down because of the messages of abuse from around the world that have been posted on them. also, the ceo of the company that owns the radio station has issued a public statement as well expressing his regret and saturdayness and indicating he does not think that legally there were any laws broken by the two deejays. they have been suspended, though, and the show has been taken off the air until further notice. take a listen to what that
